Lenticular is the combination of two or more digital images viewed with a special lens material to create a desired animated effect.
An image flip is the simplest of all animation effects but can also be the most effective. For example, having an image change, or flip, on a point-of-purchase display as a customer walks by can have a great impact. Lenticular flip technology allows up to three separate images to be combined and viewed independently when viewed at different angles under the lens. Although any two images can be combined, the technology is optimized when the change in graphics happens in the same position on the printed piece.
3D is the illusion of depth on a normally flat surface. Lenticular 3D is accomplished by layering art or photos under a lens. 3D can be the most visually appealing animation effect if done correctly with the correct image or illustration. Tip: use images with many large and small items arranged on different planes or items protruding out from the center of an image.
